About Us

Dynamic Theatre Dance School began 14 years ago when Esme Watts became the new principal at three different locations. She took over the Sonia Manning School of dance in 2005, which became her teaching residence in Linton, soon followed by occupying the Barrett-Smith School of Dance in Clifton in 2010 and finally establishing her third branch in Abington from scratch also in 2010.Since then the school numbers have flourished and we’ve been able to establish classes not only in the ISTD syllabus, but also incorporate new sessions including Adult Ballet & Tap and Commercial.

DTDS follow the ISTD exam route, which means students can take examinations in their chosen genres and reached the advanced levels of each styles. This is also a great way to gain more qualifications and most importantly can contribute to UCAS points.

Don’t want to take exams? No problem! The classes are fun and help all ages maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, focusing on stretching, strengthening and loosening, as well as correct posture and use of expression. We also do bi-annual shows and have a close connection with local organisations, which allow us to showcase our talented students at displays, fetes and events.

The school is an excellent opportunity for the local community and surrounding areas to get fit, get active and get dancing!
