Esme started training at the age of 6 years at local dance school training in ballet tap, modern and freestyle disco IDTA syllabus, doing competitions and then becoming an assistant teacher. Her love for dance then took her to The Urdang Academy of Ballet and Performing Arts in Covent Garden for 3 years where she gained her teaching diploma, performer’s diploma, modern associate ISTD and advanced RAD ballet. Being based in Covent Garden she had the opportunity to work and train with various groups, artists, choreographers and the chance to dance on TV throughout the years in productions such as:-
That’s entertainment ‘95’ at the Hackney Empire Theatre D Dance world ‘95’ at Olympia London Urdang dance company national tour, were she danced the ballet lead role of Copellia Sleeping Beauty ‘96’ with the Vienna Festival Ballet Company at the Wimbledon Theatre London College of fashion ‘97’
After graduating she was given the opportunity to travel the world with various companies to Hong Kong, Japan 3 times, Spain 6 times, and the Netherlands touring with Martin Hanson Winter Circus. Also dancing for The Prince of Wales Trust gala at Old Trafford and on channel 5 TV, and Spanish TV with varying companies. After returning from abroad she wanted to continue training as a teacher and attended the Dance College in Royston with Penny Meekings (ISTD Examiner) to gain the rest of her qualifications in ballet, tap and national as well as attaining her advanced 2 in ballet, tap, modern and national. She has been qualified in ISTD syllabus for over 20 years now. She has gained valuable teaching experience through working for Jackie Styles (ISTD Examiner) and Vikki Barsby (Splitz School of dance and drama), Premiere school of dance in Ware, Sonia Manning School of Dance, Virginia Smith (Barrett-Smith school of dance, Clifton) to whom she gained invaluable experience from over the years.
